Capturing the Process
Some hosting organizations want to capture the story of the Story Quilt. We welcome photographers and videographers and would be happy to turn images into posters and i-movies. This requires permission from participants before the project begins. The pricing depends on the project’s complexity.
Handmade Books
After I help participants create an original collaborative story, Peg Gignoux leads them in making individual "accordion" or "secret room" pop-up books. Students construct and illustrate these individual handmade books using decorative papers. (Pricing based on number of sessions and participants as well as book size.)
Children’s Picture Books Based on Story Quilt
Textile Partners works with book designer Julia Hill of Freedom Hill Design to turn a Story Quilt into a magical four-color picture book. (Book design and printing fees begin at $10,000. This fee includes photography, design and limited-run digital production of soft cover book.)
Collaborative Teacher Training:
Blending Reading with Writing and Art
Peg and I blend our talents in CEU classes which begin as I teach ways to analyze stories. Then I use these principles to compose a collaborative story. Peg teaches participants to create their own images in individual hand-made books. The class is offered as either a 10 hour training ($1,800), or an expanded 20 hour training ( $3,200).
